What is a Web Ring???
A Web Ring is a free service that groups webpages of
similar topics together, making them more accessable to
anyone on the web. The major consequence of joining a
Web Ring is that it provides an increase in hits to the
individual webpages.

What is the purpose of The CWT Web Ring?
There have been a number of Civil War rings, but these rings will be part
of the largest online community of web sites on the internet.
|
Can my site be a part of the CWT Web Ring?
Any site that deals with the Civil War, Union or Confederate,
N-SSA Units, Reenacting Units, History of the Civil War, or General information about the Civil War are all welcome to apply to one of the rings listed above.
|
Just a few guidelines for New Ring Members
- Please join the Web Ring that matches the topic of your site's content.
- The site should be made with competent use of HTML.
- The site should use good spelling and grammar.
- The site should be comprised of more that just links.
- The Web Ring banner must be easily accessable. If it
isn't going to be located on the front page, then I would
prefer that it be place on a page specifically set aside for
Web Rings. (I don't want to have to dig through your entire site
to find it.)
- The webpage must be 'G' rated. (No pornography, or links to.)
- Commercial Sites will be allowed only in the Resource Ring if they meet the criteria above.

Okay, I'm interested in joining one of the rings, where do I apply?
The first step in joining a Web Ring is applying to the queue. This can
be done at the form provided at these links:
After you fill out the form you will have to cut and paste an HTML fragment to your webpage. The code for the fragment will be available on your application as well as in a confirmation email that will be sent to you.
If you wish to make changes to the fragment, please leave all the functional choices in the fragment intact.
|
|
Once you are finished adding the fragment I will check your page and approve it and
add you to the CWT Web Ring, or I will email you if I have a problem.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at webmaster@civilwartalk.com.
