Who is going to be there? I have my reservations and will be there on the actual dates, not for the big reenactment the week before.

I'll be at the B&G event, then will be around for the actual anniversary a few days later. Looking forward to the NPS ranger tours and the new film.

I'll be the feisty one in Purdy, TN (BGA Civilian Tent Town). If I go for the hatchet back away slow and easy, without sudden movements.

I am not a reenactor, but I was there for the 125th and 135th, and I plan to be there for the 150th (at the BGA site). Whenever you go, be sure to stop by the Johnston Bivouac site on Hwy. 22. If you see an old man there peddling hiking sticks, stop and say hello. There might even be a pot of coffee available.

I was there last May, and when I heard that they were done filming their new movie which was to debut on the 150th weekend, I decided right then I would be down there for that. I also signed up for four hikes over the weekend, so really looking forward to learning lots of "something"s new.

This is the first time they have conducted guided tours of the battlefield; should be rather informative.

They have several good maps in the book store and at the main reception station the park map with its monument listing is invaluable if you want to trace where a certain unit was throughout the battle (where they bothered to mark it). The peach orchard ought to be nice and tall by now (they were replanting it when I was there last 5 years ago). The reenactment events are also near there the week before.
