I had 4 great great uncles (3 brothers of my great grandmother, 1 brother of my great grandfather) who joined this company at the same time. Two of my great grandmother's brothers died of disease before the unit went into their first battle, my great grandfather's brother died during the Battle of Gaines Mill, and my other great great uncle lost a leg sometime before 29 April 1864, when he was transferred to some kind of reserve unit that I have been told was probably some kind of home guard. Were the confederate soldiers who died at Gaines Mill buried on the battlefield? The bodies of the two who died of disease were returned to Johnston County for burial. Is there anywhere I can get more information on this company or on the reserve corps?
