    I remember it pretty well too. With Gus Grissom being from Indiana, he was our astronaut hero back then.

    Yeah, I'm kinda old as I had been out earning a living for my family for 7 years by then, in the "good ole days".:D

    I lived in Houston until a couple of years before that happened. and went to church with Ed White. Yes, I remember it well.

    Wow, what a memory that would be! I saw that Ed flew Sabres and Super Sabres in the Air force. Probably still some seat of the pants flying then!

    My sister worked for NASA (still does) so I was very tuned into the space program. That and the Challenger tragedy were absolutely devastating for the NASA family.
