Yeah, Headline News Network, I think they're affiliated with CNN, I don't know for sure or really care. Flipping through the news channels this morning I stopped on a drop-dead gorgeous anchor-woman, didn't catch her name, she may have said it but I wasn't really listening. The network reports and repeats headline news that you can catch on the other 'news' networks. They don't dwell on politics, or seem to have an agenda of any kind that I can tell yet, but the female anchors smile and laugh and will make you spill your coffee (like I did when when I was first sitting down with a cup this morning flipping through the channels....they all have really big teeth.):D

Dr. Drew is kind of a d*ckweed, but that's just my biased opinion.

It's been a while since I watched HLN, I usually get my news of the internet these days. But the CNN/HNL news anchors over the years have certainly been attention-getters. If it was early morning in Atlanta, you might have seen Robin Meade:

I always thought of HLN as CNN Lite.

I think that's pretty accurate Pam, at least from what I can tell.

A dentist told me one time that women have bigger teeth than men. I asked him 'why?'...he said, 'to protect their young.' I said, 'Oh, well, ok then.' I figured he would know, so I started noticing women's teeth, and it gave me a reason to stay focused on their faces, and I think he was right. Women's teeth do seem to be larger, maybe I'm looking at them from a skewed pov now...I dunno...

Yeah. Keep the eyes on the face. Otherwise you might lose YOUR teeth.

Now, Nate, everyone knows that the female form is a work of art. What could possibly be offensive about a man casting his eyes...um, at that renowned work of art? (I realize I'm treading on thin ice here, I'm trying to be as diplomatic as I can):sneaky:

My hubby and I always joke about the national nightly news, where the qualifications for any of their "experts" in finance, weather, medicine, etc., seem to be mostly how well they can fill in a low-cut, short, tight dress. It seems to be a ruse: if we can distract our audience, they won't notice our "experts" aren't so expert in their field.

The American news is not the only news that has done this, just the more recent. Hispanic newscasts have for years had drop-dead, low-cut dress female "news anchors." Check out Telemundo or Univision, Lee.

We get several Spanish channels here in Dallas. Most shows feature clowns, cowboys or hooker-looking girls. It must be popular in the culture or they'd be showing something else.

I think the networks and the local television news stations have to provide mental treatment and rehabilitation for their news anchors who have to continuously smile; even at 5 and 6 A.M.
