This was record breaking brawl in Finnish league, 465 minutes of penalties in one match. My favorite team HIFK is in white jersey!

I have often heard it said the Americans and the English are separated by a common language.

Bill Torrens and I used to kid each other about the Empire and the Colonies and our tastes in food.

Bill once attacked that famous of all American food groups, MacDonalds, and I in rage counter-attacked fish and chips.

I once sent him a letter with a warrent for his arrest and travel orders for him to be transported to Ft. Warren for confinement for war-like acts against the Union, with MacDonalds gift certificates as "food vouchers" for his trip.

You want bland... we've got bland.

Great pastiche of a Friday night out in England which, after a few beers, usually ends up at a curry house.

    Unionblue:

Bill mentioned the above incident on more than one occasion when I lived in England and he spoke fondly about your 'American sense of humour.'

As for fish and chips, England makes the best in the world but I never could stomach their mushy peas, even afrer a pint of beer!

When I was in Ireland I ordered a sampler plate for breakfast (Limerick). They brought out scrambled eggs and FOUR different types of sausage, all of them tasted great. (one was a little funky tasting but I didn't get sick) I drank only Guinness while there (not for breakfast). When I then took the ferry over to Wales, from Waterford, and made my way into England I found pretty quickly that I was a big fan of English fish and chips, and also their 'bangers (sausage) and mash (potatos)' . I ordered those two meals for most of the week that I spent there... (you'd think I'd grow tired of the same stuff...but I didn't!) I also stuck with Guinness while in England.
