I know we have more, and thanks for this! Must get to the Gettysburg forum- became smitten by our ladies there and began digging at several points. Let my head catch up with my aching bones and will retrieve those.

Since the Memory Jar and and Ebay threads have both women and men, thought to put them in. I thought twice about the Ebay auction threads- but the only way to have this nonsense halted is to speak up.

Have threads I must look up on individual women who nursed and taught during the war- over the years members have been kind enough to send me leads on different women. Teachers! One of my favorite topics, must go find those threads!

I think we've missed quite a few. The thing is, women of color had stories so various it's impossible to remember who we've included. Too easy missing poets, and Oberlins first black woman to graduate much less writers. Just came across Douglas's story on a woman who took her son north to freedom ( to Canada, FSA tacked on all those extra miles ), turned around, went back to bring her other 7 children out of captivity, too. SO many stories this thread should be 10 pages long and counting.

You know what I can't find? Names of women the Sisters educated to be nurses on hospital ships. Anyone comes across that information please let me know?
