Two years after joining the KKK, three years after he led rebel forces in attempting to break up the USA, five years after his command massacred Union prisoners, ten years after being a slave dealer, Gen. Forrest is welcomed at the Democratic convention.
He was the celebrity leader of a Tennessee delegation pledged to Pres. Andrew Johnson which may tell you where Johnson was on the political spectrum.
